How to change gameplay modes
Posted by on 21 January 2014 12:41 PM

Minecraft offers three modes of play.

Survival - In this mode, players have to gather all their materials to build, craft, and gain experience points. There is a health, hunger, and armor bar, an inventory and, when underwater, an oxygen bar.

Creative - In this mode, players will have access to an infinite amount of almost all blocks and items available, and can destroy them instantly. Players are invulnerable and do not have health, armor, or hunger, and can fly. The player has access to items not available in Survival mode, e.g. spawn eggs.

Adventure - In this mode, players can interact with objects such as levers and buttons, and can interact with mobs. However, they can only break blocks with the correct tools (such as breaking dirt with a shovel, or breaking stone with a pickaxe), making this mode good for adventure maps. Although this game mode has been released, it is still in its early stages, lacking in many features including the ability to toggle the use of tools by players.

McMyAdmin gives you the option to set the default game mode. Players who have never joined the server before will have this mode attached to their playername. The McMyAdmin setting does NOT change it for players who have already joined the server, but we will show you how you can change them as well.

In both cases, Start by going to your Servercraft dashboard (servercraft.co/login) and logging in.

Next click on the McMyAdmin tab at the top of the page

Log into McMyAdmin

****

To change the default game mode start by clicking on "Configuration" on the left hand side and clicking on the "Game Settings" tab at the top. From the Game Mode drop down box, select which mode you'd like to be the default for new users.

****

To change the mode for existing players select "Console" on the left hand side and the type in the following command in the blank field.

/gamemode creative/survival/adventure playername

For example, if your playername is Servercraft and you wanted to place yourself into survival mode you'd type in

/gamemode survival Servercraft

and then hit enter.

Please note that the command used above will only work if the player is online.
